If you had been inside my head you would have heard me think this...
My parents have been out of the country for a month and returned tonight.
Me: Y'all missed it, but it was sad to watch the Mets die like that. Poor Willie Randolph.
Dad: You grandfather must be turning over in his grave. Big Mets fan.
Me: Yeah, I was going to root for them, at least in the NL.
Dad: Well, you could always root for the Red Sox,
Me (not out loud, in my head): Dad, I love you and I know that you were a Red Sox fan as a kid in Boston. I would love to root for the same team as you. But you all had me in New Jersey. I was a Yankees fan until I was 11. There's no way I could root for the Red Sox. That's impossible.

your Grandad (my Dad)is probably now rooting for the Indians because he always rooted for the underdog. He loved the Mets for that reason when they started in 1962.

Almost forgot, tell your Dad that I too (Uncle Glenn) am rooting for the Indians because it will be a cold day in hell that I root for the Red Sox!!!!

Ack! I was born in an American League city and would've pulled for one of them...until they ruined the game with the DH...Go Rockies!
