Navy News: Kitty Hawk Sailors Train to Improve Liberty Performance

Kitty Hawk leadership has taken many steps to mitigate liberty incidents, such as using written daily liberty plans and use of liberty buddies. Several performance enhancement sessions were held to reach Sailors in smaller groups.

Written liberty plans?

Here's a sample of what my liberty plan was in 1994:

1. Call Wife
2. Get hotel room, take shower with water running
3. Get drunk and make ass of self
4a. Carry shipmates to room, or
4b. Be carried to room

4c. Wake up with weird taste in mouth, raging headache and pain in buttocks.

That's a lot better than taking a shower without the water running. Those suck.

Showers: Chief (aka TMC or Jim) told this sea story:

He showed up on his first ship and when underway got in the shower. Not knowing any better, he let the water run. A crusty first class hopped in the shower stall with him and said, "If you're gonna use my f***ing water for a f***ing Hollywood shower, we're all gonna f***ing enjoy it."

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume the crusty first class was a very skinny guy!!!
